Join us ! Internship – Narrow Mid Web/Digital PrintingTo support the optimization of our production site in Seon, Argovie, Switzerland, we are looking for a 12 months internship.

The overall goal of the master-thesis is to assess existing Production Line and propose optimization in terms of productivity and quality.
Narrow-Mid Web (NMW) is a product-line within the Bobst Group which is producing printing machines dedicated to label industry, both analog and digital machines.
In order to print digital labels, BOBST has developed a technology integrated in all our digital printing machines.
For the first time in the inkjet history, utilizing the advancements of 3D Printing technology, we are able to develop such a compact and effective printing device.
These clusters are internally produced in one of our site which is based in Seon, canton Argovie, Switzerland.

Main tasks:

• Understand existing cluster production line based in our site in Seon
• Identify bottlenecks existing in the current production line and provide optimization measures, in particular time related constraints
• Understand current KPI’s already in place
• Provide overall quality improvements over the entire production line, including associated KPI’s
• Provided that the existing production line must be duplicated in Mex, propose optimized layout and steps for new line and KPI’s linked to quality.
• Review current manual instructions and propose improvements where needed

• You are about to complete your EPFL in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent cursus and are looking for a subject for your maser thesis
• Initiative, decision-making ability and very good autonomy
• Flexible and resilient
• You like to work in multidisciplinary teams
• You are fluent in English, French and German would be an asset.
• You will be based in Mex, Switzerland and ready to travel monthly to our Bobst site in Seon ( ).

The production site of Mex, near Lausanne in Switzerland, is also the headquarters of the Bobst Group. It is the most important site, employing approx. 1500 passionate people.
It also trains each year roughly 200 apprentices. The site offers an idyllic work environment. In the countryside and close to major highways, it is also well served by public transport.
